New Hope Alliance Church is an accredited
church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance
Denomination. The C&MA is Missions oriented
with churches around the World. Our local church
was the first church in the Spanish Central District
and was established in 1941 by 2 Missionary
Women in Brownsville, Texas.

Our church has always kept the Great
Commission as the central focus in all that we do.
This is even more evident in the Formation and
Sending of Leaders into the World. Most notably
Ministries such as ALI (Bible Institute) has
produced Godly fruits in the form of Accredited
Pastors, C&MA Missionaries, and many Church
Leaders. Our VBS (Vacation Bible School) has
also placed the word of God into the hearts of our
young people. We have been blessed in the last
few years to send multiple youth to Crown College
to further their education based on bible
principles.

During the years, NHAC has developed through
much adversity and change. Originally named El
Shaddai, a predominantly Spanish speaking
church. From El Shaddai, a church plant was
established in 2003, called Church on the Rock.
Both churches continued sharing God’s Word
throughout Brownsville. In Spring of 2005, El
Shaddai and Church on the Rock agreed to unite
as a single new church, New Hope Alliance
Church. NHAC embraced Jesus’ command in
calling to make disciples of all nations, by
equipping new leaders through Bible Institutes
and VBS. This resulted in the launching of a new
church plant, Iglesia Casa de Luz in 2012. Casa
de Luz began reaching the North Brownsville
area, shepherding new leaders and families for
Christ. At the onset of 2019, through much prayer,
God’s plan for Casa de Luz was to re-unite with
NHAC. The combining of both churches, unified
both churches strengths which has prepared
NHAC to fulfill God’s new direction and calling.
